- Leveraging Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft Access, Audit Command Language (ACL) and Microsoft Excel
Royalty Audit
- Transformation of two dozen subsets of text-based data (totaling 100 million records) into a relational database
- Macro creation for large scale recalculation at a transactional level; deployed to multiple resources to allow for concurrent processing of multiple datasets
- Acted as the project lead for our system-focused approach in support of the audit
Scorecard Creation
- Gathered metrics from internal and external sources for inclusion in an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) scorecard for Microsoft
- Worked with team to narrow down metrics to those that most appropriately addressed the overall risks as identified by the Enterprise Risk Assessment
- Helped to map out a framework in which the metrics could be summarized under each identified risk
- Created the scorecard using Microsoft Excel; geared toward a governance committee audience
Revenue Process Mapping and Recalculation
- Walkthrough of process for deferred revenue calculation by product type at the transaction level; gained understanding of specific client process and developed strategy on how to leverage data analytics for recalculation
- Development and execution of multiple SQL queries used to recalculate deferred revenue numbers for reconciliation back to trial balance and financial statements
- Communicated and worked with the client and financial audit team to gain an understanding around noted variances and resolve questions
Business Process Analytic Development
- Developed custom business process analytics across four main areas: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and financial reporting
- Leveraged SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to develop and execute automated data flows to bring data in on a quarterly basis and automatically export to prepared Microsoft Excel workbooks
- Flushed out insights specific to the client’s needs in order to extract relevant business information from data located in three disparate general ledger/financial reporting systems
